cinnamon and soooogar

TGIF- ain't that the truth. I am so happy for the weekend. I can't complain really, my work load has not been too heavy this week. First things first! My hilarious lil bitty seester Carl has posted a brand new nick name post and its hilarious. She is funny funny. Have fun in dally this weekend carlsbad!! I will miss you terribly. Another reason we can Thank Goodness its FRIDAY is because I will be going back to Waco tonight and attending their fabulous annual production of SING. Several of my favorite people reside in Waco, and I am always so proud of their hardwork and how wonderful their acts are every year. Go pi phi, Go sae, GO SING!

So this was embarrassing and stupid, but I will tell you guys anyways. Last night I was working at the Pita Pit, having a lovely shift with Holland and Whitney. I took a delivery because well, I love to take deliveries. I also love to lock my keys in my car, which has become a Pita staff joke. It is usually funnier than it was last night. I was delivering to a house which I had been to before, and there were girls there getting ready for a formal. I had to go back up to the door after dropping the pita, and stand outside using this stranger's phone. Here I am, in my pita gear, with no phone, using the very sweet Natalie's phone and calling Carl a million times because hers is the only number I know. The stoner on the couch inside was trying his best to comfort me, but to no avail I was very uncomfortable. A red-headed resident strolled downstairs and we made a few mutual friend connections. I must say that each person at this house that I chose to impose on was VERY helpful and very nice to me. None the less, I was embarrassed. I finally had the idea to call Pita Pit and get Megsy's number and she saved my life. Boys started arriving at this house.Dressed in tuxes. Stoner boy kept introducing me to guests as Pita Girl. I was attending a pre-party to a formal that I had not exactly been invited to. I can now laugh about it, but I did shed a few tears when Megsy arrived and saved me. Thanks to Megan, you are truly a hero and a wonderful friend!

But today is a new day, one that will hopefully hold less embarrassing run-ins. Kaci and I went to the grocery store.. which we have NEVER done together. This is strange because we both like to cook and that means we go to the grocery store alot. It was a fun little trip. She is making her famous cinnammon rolls today! I call them famous because they are just that. She is such an amazing chef. I am truly sooooo jealous. Luckily I will get to have one of these delicious treats! She is baking. I am sitting here watching the OC. SoapNet is really delivering today.
I hope that everyone has a wonderful weekend :) Be safe in your travels and everything you do!!

bye, say bye!

wonderfully

Hello all- it is another Wonderful Wednesday! This week has been busy, I wish I had more time to blog but better late than never! Yesterday I had 2 papers due in school.. it is SUCH an amazing feeling turning them in and ridding my hands of it all. Now I have much more time the rest of the week for stuff I want to do! Like...

-Finish reading my Danielle Steele book.... thanks mom for getting me hooked on these over Christmas break
-Organize the pictures on my computer and clean them out
-Clean the bathroom in our house
-Go to the basketball game tonight in you guessed it!... Waco :)
-Spend time with some friends that I have not seen in a while

So I have waited long enough to mention that it SNOWED in college station yesterday! Kaci and I were in class and when we came out? SNOW! It was beautiful. And cold. And wet. I reallllyyy enjoyed watching all of the people's reactions to the snow as they ran out of their classrooms. A bunch of 18-22 year old college people were running around, taking pictures on their phones, and freakkinnggggg out about the snow. Fun fun. Did I get pictures? Duhhhhh I got pictures. My roommate Emily even got a little crazy and decided to do a bathing suit photo shoot in the snow. I know, I know... what a nut. We love her.

happy happy embily!

So the snow was not the only wonderful thing about yesterday. Megan Ewing, author of the Cakes Place blog, is no only a dear friend of mine, but our Bible Study leader hear at the Shrooms house. We love Megsy so much. She is such a sweet and wonderful and special person. We watched a Beth Moore video.. soo entertaining. I wish I had that much energy and I am pretty sure she is old enough to be my mother. Anyhow, it was a funnnnn time with some of my favorite people. Then ZACK came over ( our friend and EmBily's BOYFRIEND). HE is fun and wonderful, too. Hey zack!!!!!

Great day, huh? Today will be just as great... I can feel it. I have sort of a 6th sense about these things. Only one class, then off to the Baylor vs. A&M basketball game.. WHOOOP! Can't wait :) Now it is time for my friend of the day.. I have been looking forward to talking about this particular friend. Meet Kaci!!

I know, she is lovely. I really have no bad looking friends. Just my luck :) Kaci and I became friends in college, and she has grown to be someone that I can always depend on, and that I know will continue to be a close friend after we graduate ( IF we ever graduate). Kaci and I share many of the same loves: Jesus, delicious food, pretty clothes, pictures, more food, and talking about our problems until we can make sense of them. Kaci is far more wise than I am, and I can always come to her for advice that I know will be honest and discerning. I don't know what I would do without her. She has become so close to Carley and Emily also, and we all cherish her SO much. Did I mention she is funny as hell? Well she is. I'm lucky to know this one :)

Love you KP!--- check out HER blog too!

Time to go run... or walk, around the neighborhood. Hope everyone has a WONDERFUL wednesday!
Bye, say bye!

I have decided that it is just sort of tricky to blog on the weekends. Well this weekend, anyways. Believe it or not I made another trip to Waco ! I left Dallas Saturday afternoon, very sad to go and leave sweet JanPie. This was just a short one night stay, but Ryan and I went to his highschool's fundraiser with his parents! I had no idea what to expect. It was so much fun! We had a good time getting dressed up in our denim and boots. Was everyone else in this get up, you may ask? Not exactly, though Ryan assured me that would be the case. No big deal :) We had so much fun!
I was lucky enough to get to see some friends from Baylor and from high school while we were there. Special thanks to Emily, Callie, David, Kristi, and Ashley for making my night enjoyable. Proof of the Waco fun below!

cute girls

David Reed- a best friend and the lead singer of Airplanes---look to the right! GO NOW! Buy his album on iTunes!! Or visit their myspace- dooooooo it.

oh brother

:)

I am a little bit weary and sleepy and tired as I write this blog. So much that I am being very repetitive. I keep saying that one of these days I am going to have a very relaxing and restful weekend, but it does not always work out that why. I have so much that I want to share and blog, but those thoughts may have to wait until later on this week. I have a nasty, stupid, large paper due on Tuesday that will be consuming most of my time until then. Yuck.

What did I do tonight, you ask? Oh ya know. I babysat. Which I loved! I arrived at dinner time, slightly bummed because Ryan went back to Houston ( 2 week countdown until the internship is over!) and I was dreading eating oven cooked pizza. Much to my surprise the Mom had cooked Tacos! Can you believe it? Well I couldn't. Don't ask me what kind of strings she pulled to find out my favorite home-cooked meal but I can't thank Mrs. Holland enough! They were delicious, and a much needed pick me up after a long weekend full of driving in my little black sports car. Gosh, I sound so whiney. I apologize to my peeps.
I miss my daily friends section, that was actually just a friend of the day because it happened once. I mean what I say, and I say what I mean so the friend bio will return tomorrow! I hope everyone has sweet dreams tonight. Praying that the week goes smoothly, that Carlsbad does well on her TWO tests tomorrow ( you can do it!) and that the Lord keeps everyone safe and healthy.
Love ya. Mean it.
Bye, say bye!

big D, little a double L- A-S.

I am back! For those of you that missed me yesterday... Well I missed you too! I drove into Dallas after classes yesterday so I could get my hair done this morning. I just love getting my hair done. If I win the lottery one day I am going to hire someone to wash my hair every day because that is a wonderful feeling. Okay, I'll probably never do that. But wouldn't it be lov-er-ly :) If you are in the Dallas area I highly recommend going to see Lindsay Stanley at the new Aveda school on Park Lane. She is such a fun person to talk to while sitting in the chair. Enough about the chair. And the hair.

I just love being home in Dallas- it is such a wonderful city and a nice refreshing break from college station. My mother and I had a nice drive around the metroplex and picked up a cake at a retirement home. Long story. The short story is I wish I was eating a piece of that cake right now. Yummmm.
Shout outs for tonight- Hello Santana (Carl)! I miss you and our little shroom, Embo.

have fun tonight at formal Kaci, and all of the other lovely ladies that will be in attendance.

Good luck to all of the Baylor SING participants this weekend! Can't wait to see it next friday! Wooohoooo

Hello to Megsy and Ranger- I really miss you guys! Can't wait to see you both soon.

I don't have my daily friend today because I am on my home computer and without all of my precious pictures. I know, I am bummed too! I hope everyone has a wonderful Friday night. I will be watching Glee for the better part of the evening :)

Happy Weekend!!!!!!!!
bye, say bye!

it WAS wonderful :)

Like I said, the Wednesday happened to turn out just perfect. My mom, JanPie just left our little house in college station. We wish she could of stayed but she has this silly thing called "work" tomorrow. No fun at all. We gave her a taste of our day-to-day with a trip to Naked Fish which was sooo yummy, then we went to see the movie Valentine's Day. I thought it was very cute. We then made our way to SPOONS which is always a wonderful treat... one that I have now enjoyed two days in a row. Whoops. After a quick Target run, we returned to the house and like I said, Mom is gone. Thanks alot mom for coming to see us-We loved it and we love you!

JanPie and her favorite daughter

Mom and the good ol' Ags- whoop for jan!!

I would also like to feature the first of my Daily Friends on this blog. Bests of the best go first. Lets get right to it, shall we?

Callie. This girl and I have been kindred spirits for quite some time now. Thats how Anne of Green Gables describes it... "kindred spirits". She also says "bosom buddies" but I find that phrase to be a little bit strange. But forget Anne, lets get back to Cal. Hey calgal! You may be thinking, "Whit, this picture is a little old!"-you are correct. This photo was taken at one of Callie's volleyball games our senior year as Wildcats. She was hurt, and I was merely supporting her (hence her name and number on my t-shirt). I can use old pictures like this of Callie because luckily, she has not changed since the 7th grade or so. Yes! She has always looked THIS good! She is always there for me, though we go to different schools now, and I know I can always count on her for honest advice and counsel. Did I mention she is going to be a doctor??? Well she is. She happens to be my smartest friend. I was always trying to copy her homework. Unfortunately she is honest, too, so that never really worked out for me. Some of my favorite memories with Callie are from cheerleading, the lake with her family, vacations(whether to San Antonio or to the Virgin Islands), and post-football game sleepovers. She is so lovely, inside and out. Miss and love you bunches, Cal. Thanks for being so supportive of my new blog!

I will continue to feature Daily Friends, as long as I can remember to and until I run out. Basically, this segment could be short lived. Don't worry. I will think of something. For now, I am going to add some pictures to this morning's blog from last nights cooking fun.

Until next time: bye, say bye!

I hope everyone is having a really wonderful wednesday so far- today is an early day for me, though it is 9:35. This is early for me to be up and moving, or up and blogging. I like it! I went out on a limb and let my facebook friends know I was blogging last night. I am since then feeling "ok" about my decision :) Yesterday was a lovely and kind of lazy day!
I went to class, then had lunch with Kaci (who is also blogging and can be found here ). My friend Bret came over after that and we watched the Ellen Show. He has a thing for Kelli Pickler, who was her guest. He has a much stronger affection for his lovely girlfriend Laura, but she wasn't on the Ellen show. Anyhow, after Bret left me and the shrooms went on a quick walk, then Lindsay came over and we made dinner, served champagne, and made Funfetti cake for everyone to enjoy.Definitely the highlight of my day. Need proof? Alright, alright!

LT preparing the Funfetti cake

Mushroomies that went into the pasta- Arsty Lindsay decided to form them in the shape of a "C" for Carley Rae. How sweet.

HDCDS' favorite cake!! We enjoyed it. All of it.

Oh yeah! And then we watched some Glee. Here are a couple of my very favorite characters on the show, though I like all of them.

Puck- he is so tough and cute. He also went to my highschool- which is fun fact I love to throw around.

Rachel- So much talent. So much fun to watch.

If you have not gotten into GLEE just yet- you should! It is a fun and easy show to get into and it makes me so so happy.

Later I will create a post to dedicate to some of these friends I have mentioned, because friends are a very special thing to have.
I'm so excited about TODAY- my mom is coming in town to spend some time with Carl and I. We are going to show her some of our new favorite college station spots that we have found since her last visit. Lunch at Naked Fish Sushi!! If you live in the Bryan, College Station area and have not tried it, I highly recommend it! OK, time to actually get up and get ready for the day.
bye, say bye!

Presidential

One of these days I am going to write a post about a holiday on the actual holiday. I really did nothing special in honor of President's Day yesterday, but I did receive this funny little video from my brother Campbell that I feel like I should share. I am a history major, so things like this really hit close to home. Just kidddinnggggg. Not about being a history major, but about it "hitting close to home". Not true. Just click on "video" to watch it :)

Another fun thing campbell showed me yesterday was that he and Sarah (the fiancee) now have a website. It is very cute, as well. GO TO IT! www.campbellandsarah.com

One last thing before I go: In honor of President's day- a little snapshot of my favorite Prez

That is all I have for now- off to class. Can't wait for my Mom to come into town tomorrow- fun :)

bye, say bye!
